Editorial Review

With little in the way of ambience, it’s obvious diners flock to this neighbourhood staple for the food. The standard Thai menu covers all the bases, including numerous soup and vegetarian options. Served with peanut sauce, four tender chicken satays start a meal off right. Gluey fish cakes and a pair of chicken spring rolls prove less successful. Bathed in a full-bodied curry sauce, beef with coconut and bamboo epitomizes exotic Thai cuisine—both spicy and sweet. A dozen plump shrimp sizzle in garlic that accents rather than overpowers. Coconut ice cream recalls the best of tropical vacations.
