The hip industrial feel of this old brewery building juxtaposes playfully with traditional Thai tchotchkes—brightly coloured throw pillows, the requisite Golden Buddha statue. But this isn’t the traditional Thai dining experience; there’s white linen on the tables, modern jazz plays softly and the wine list is sophisticated. Chef Sasi Meechai tempers the hot, sour, salty extremes of Thai cooking for local tastes, and dishes have a pleasing subtlety, even if some are on the sweet side. Golden pumpkin soup is a thick purée enriched with coconut and served with a tangled clump of Thai spinach fried in tempura batter. Desserts bring a refined version of sticky rice pudding with diced mango, coconut and sesame. Mains $10–$24.
