Editorial Review

Since 1948, the Vigneux family has been serving up flame-broiled beef (New York steak, filet mignon and boneless rib) to generations of North Yorkers. Not much has changed: crisp iceberg wedges and a bottomless breadbasket still accompany a classic menu of spare ribs, lobster tails, shrimp cocktails and escargot. There’s plenty of seating space for grandchildren in the homey dining room of exposed brick walls, burgundy linens and soft rock. Mains $15.95–$34.25.
