In the heart of downtown, this pretty Greek-influenced seafood outpost packs in the suits at lunchtime and, come evening, attracts tourists too timid to make the trek to the Danforth. Slick service seems a little frazzled on a busy night, so the action in the open kitchen provides a welcome distraction. The menu of mainstream Mediterranean stalwarts holds few surprises; the kitchen’s strength lies in its way with fresh fish. Calamari comes crisp and tender but bland, while strangely pasty crab cakes suffer the same flavourless fate. Yellowfin tuna, however, brings a generous steak of rare sushi-grade fish paired nicely with saffron rice and a drizzle of wasabi- and ginger-spiked soy. Seafood linguine tosses al dente pasta, just-cooked shrimp, scallops and mussels in a rich herb-flecked tomato sauce. A standout on an uninspired dessert list combines good vanilla ice cream with chewy dried figs and toasted walnuts. Mains $19–$37.
