This renovated favourite of Danforth locals sports a chic maroon interior and wooden floors, but the original menu, heavy on hearty Asian noodle dishes, remains. Deep-fried briny-flavoured shrimp rolls and moist pork-filled Tibetan dumplings are winners in the Silk Road appetizer plate. Lanzhou spicy noodle soup is a vast bowl of barbecued pork, chicken, sliced beef tenderloin and Chinese sausage, all jostling for room among vegetables and thick noodles; accompanying chili seasoning shakes up the garlicky broth. Sticky honey-garlic sauce bathes crispy-
battered beef tenderloin with sweet pineapple and lychee—it’s Asian food for beginners, but the flavours meld well. Tiny deep-fried red bean spring rolls make a sweet ending.
