Editorial Review

The adventurous forgo table-and-chair dining to sit cross-legged on carpets at this winsome, family-friendly restaurant. Customers sip cardamom-spiked Indian Railway tea, while up on the walls, the Dalai Lama peers blissfully from his frame among teeth-baring ritual masks and Tibetan photographs. Such traditional dishes as aloo phingsha (a vermicelli, beef and black fungus concoction), spicy shangrila chili chicken, Tibetan-style dumplings and house specialty crispy beef keep ’em hungry for more. Almost everything is made on the premises, including the noodles and five-alarm chili sauce. Mains $4–$10.
