Pho Saigon

Reviewed by Toronto Life
Editorial Review

Hungering for Vietnamese on the Golden Mile? This fam-friendly corner spot serves up cheap and cheery comfort food without skimping on the goods. Fashioned like firecrackers, Fall Rolls wrap shredded pork and veggies in rice paper; an explosive kick comes courtesy of peppers and fish sauce. Douse the flames with one of 50 hearty rice noodle soups—better suited to Canadian winters than to subtropical Saigon—each with a different combination of beef (rare, brisket, tripe, tendon). Seafood and vegetable rice noodle soups also line the menu. Ginger-curry marinade makes chicken a fine mate for steamed rice; double up on chicken or add a second meat (grilled beef or pork). Friendly service. Unlicensed.
