This narrow family-run room is a perennial Riverdale favourite for good reason: service is among the friendliest in the city, and the sprawling menu—covering the canon from excellent pho to creamy avocado shakes (a hit with kids) to tasty pig’s blood soup—offers something for everyone. Special Hué-style spicy noodle soup is thick with rare beef in sublime chili-rich beef broth. A platter of barbecued pork and minced shrimp brings hunks of sweet-slathered meat cooked to mahogany, and shrimp that’s rolled around a sugar cane and grilled—with accompanying rice papers and crunchy lettuce and vegetables, it’s a brilliant make-your-own meal. Swai (striped catfish) in hot and sour soup makes for messy eating. Mains $5–$22.
