Editorial Review

Noisy tile floors and bucolic Mediterranean frescoes hold little charm, but the draw here is an abundance of food at a fair price. Hummus and tahini are smooth and garlicky but would benefit from a tiny squirt of lemon. Sautéed tomatoes resemble de facto tomato sauce, with enough garlic to kill Dracula. Two winners include ethereal cumin-spiked falafel balls and superlative fried eggplant. Chicken, beef and lamb kebabs may be generous, but they fall short on flavour, long on chew. A square of baklava may not cut the garlic, but it tastes good. Service is genteel, if harried.
