Noisy tile floors and bucolic Mediterranean frescoes hold little charm, but the draw here is the overabundance of food at fair prices. Hummus and tahini are smooth and garlicky but would benefit from a tiny squirt of acidic lemon. Sautéed tomatoes resemble tomato sauce, with enough garlic to kill Dracula. Winners include ethereal cumin-spiked falafel balls and superlative fried eggplant. Generous chicken, beef and lamb kebabs are short on flavour and moisture, long on chew. A square of baklava isn’t enough to cut the garlic, but it tastes good. Service is genteel.
