Lorne Pancer’s grandfather founded this north Toronto institution in 1957; now in its third generation, the place continues to thrive. Press clippings and old black-and-white photos give the space a family feel, the takeout counter does a steady business in sandwiches and sliced meats, and a no-nonsense waitress steers those dining in toward the pastrami.
