Editorial Review

North Yorkers know this place as the go-to spot for Mediterranean fare. Tables are cozied together in a club-like room filled with rich polished woods and antique prints. Diners sup on caldeirada de marisco (Portuguese-style seafood), grilled rack of lamb, seared fillet of Mediterranean bass and the decadent house dessert—a warm pie filled with peaches, pears and apples and topped with toasted hazelnut ice cream. The global wine list offers favourites, a few gems and dozens of ports. Mains $18–$38.
