Editorial Review

Attentive servers work a utilitarian, split-level room, refilling cups of tea and replenishing plates of complimentary kimchee and marinated turnip with admirable efficiency. The menu’s strength is its handful of carefully prepared, Korean-inflected Chinese dishes: the noodles and vegetables are perfectly al dente, and the spicing is consistently deft. Highlights include ja jang myun, noodles tossed with diced beef and a thick, satisfyingly sweet black bean sauce; and jampong, a generous bowl of calamari, mussels, shrimp and noodles reposing in Korean-spiced broth that’s red with chili oil—flavour builds nicely with the heat.
