Ka Chi

Reviewed by Toronto LifeThis quaint (i.e., kitschy) Koreatown spot is the go-to place for Korean food neophytes. Both room and menu are a hodgepodge of influences: Van Gogh prints and an expansive menu that dabbles in Japanese fusion. The friendly but overwhelmed staff serve traditional, plate-sized potato and scallion pancakes and baskets of greasy pan-fried chicken dumplings with salty-sweet soy sauce. Other staples include bulgogi bi bim bap, a heaping pile of rice and meat that is woefully dry. Although Ka Chi’s famous pork bone soup lacks flavour, the meat is fall-off-the-bone tender.
