This 38-seat Danforth bistro serves up dirt cheap Japanese small plates that are big on taste. Nigiri sushi—tuna, salmon and yellowtail—is respectable, but apps and seasonal specials impress more: sliced cold octopus with kimchee as well as firm, miso-topped daikon among the former. Specials include pillow-soft chunks of pumpkin sauced with sweetened soy; grilled capelin resembling thin smelt; and beef, tofu and cabbage in spicy broth.
