Editorial Review

This Beach favourite’s carte proffers solid quality at good value. Sweetish sesame sauce flatters blanched spinach, while lemony ponzu sparks seared tuna. Barbecued eel stuffs a generous avocado-draped dragon roll sporting tempura shrimp. Set dinners include a bento box of moist grilled black cod with miso sauce, tempura veg and shrimp, and another of toothsome chicken teriyaki and nigiri sushi. Desserts are limited to fresh fruit or ice cream, including excellent mango and black sesame. Sweet servers. Small plates $4–$12, mains $14–$27.
