Editorial Review

“You haven’t had wedgy fries before?” asks one customer incredulously of another in this standing-room-only takeout joint at the foot of Roncesvalles. The paprika-dusted deep-fried potatoes are a hit with snackers, while such entrées as veal parmesan, wedgies (sandwiches made on nine-inch pizza crusts) and pastas aim to satisfy larger appetites. Coral-coloured walls, a hanging handwritten menu and a small still-life painting provide minimal decoration. Unlicensed. Mains $5.25–$8.75.
