In the heart of the pizza-and-pasta war zone on College, Vivoli prospers on Italian standards made with fresh ingredients, irreverent but snappy service and big screens tuned to soccer. Perfectly timed, garlicky grilled calamari on balsamic-dressed mesclun is flawless, but a standard caprese salad is bland. Chicken-mushroom risotto is fine but better with a little more parmesan.
