The mature local crowd returns for Italian classics (such as lasagna and veal parmigiana), and chef Sergio Zanetti brings a taste of Friuli to Rossini’s menu with polenta, linguine with fresh artichokes, lamb chops in anise sauce, and his specialty, lobster gnocchi in a rosé-brandy sauce. The intimate yet deceptively large space seats 250 between two small rooms on the first floor. A rich-toned second-floor room takes weekend overflow. Mains $18.95–$39.95.
