Despite its home in a forgotten row of crumbling townhouses, this subterranean restaurant does a brisk trade with the staff from nearby Hospital Row. The kitchen manages to tackle both Indian and Thai cuisines with surprisingly even, often excellent, results. Crisp, greaseless spring rolls are filled with a juicy mixture of chicken, shrimp and crab perfumed with fresh cilantro. Cubes of high-quality tilapia are moist in a well-balanced madras curry sauce that combines chili heat with the sour edge of tamarind. Service is with a smile, though the kitchen takes its sweet time. Mains $10–$15.
