Editorial Review

Just a few steps below street level is this restaurant specializing in the dishes of northern India. Area workers and local couples come for the butter chicken and the dry-rubbed reshmi tikka (white meat marinated in a cashew sauce) and end with a mixed dessert platter of such traditional homemade goodies as fried gulab jamun and creamy kulfi. The spice-toned interior features turban-shaped chandeliers, crisp white linens and detailed murals of the Indian countryside. Mains $9–$18.
