Zane Caplansky has chosen an odd place to set up his mini-deli: Little Italy’s reliable old dive bar, the Monarch Tavern. But ignore the bombastic Sopranos-esque boozehounds and head straight upstairs for the outstanding smoked meat. The menu is tiny: pastrami sandwiches, soup, fries and cole slaw, along with pickles and pie from Wanda’s Pie in the Sky.
