Reviewed by Toronto LifeWell known among Chinese-Cantonese expats for its signature roast suckling pig, Dragon Dynasty offers a vast menu of favourites; but unlike at many of its ilk, here the quality is consistently high. Elegant soups (chicken with Chinese medicinal herbs, and fish consommé with ocean bass and 100-year-old eggs) prepare the appetite for other creative specialties, such as deep-fried B.C. oysters in honey sauce—a surprise hit. There are occasional misses, like bland, fried black cod steaks. Service is efficient but not elegant (this isn’t Lai Wah Heen). A simple beer and wine list. Mains $12–$18.
