People who can resist nodding to the rhythmic reggae music in this seven-year-old Jamaican Queen West hideaway should have someone check them for a pulse. Generous plates of traditional favourites tantalize, with spices dialled down for the masses, sometimes disappointingly so. Molasses sweetens succulent jerk wings, best washed down with a bottle of Red Stripe. Sweet corn and mashed potatoes prop up a seafood gumbo teeming with fresh mussels, shrimp and plump scallops. Fluffy rice and peas keep good company with creamy coleslaw and a tame but satisfying curried chicken. Scrumptious, not-too-sweet homemade mango cheesecake delights.
