expensiveFrom the picturesque flower-fringed, wrought iron front patio to the pastel green and pomegranate walls inside, this modish Portuguese-run café oozes cool. Lackadaisical yet freshly sophisticated, the café serves imported beers (Sagres, for example) and sandwiches (egg salad, turkey, mortadella). Towering carrot, black forest and chocolate cakes, coconut tarts and baked flan appease sweet tooths, while giant strudels, cream puffs, mille feuilles and madeleines provide sugar boosts. Mains $3–$6.
