This offshoot of the Leaside bakery serves up such classic combos as chopped liver or lox and cream cheese on its Montreal-style bagels. Proud Poppy, Pumped Pumpernickel and low-fat Holy Whole Wheat pop out of the in-house wood-fired oven to be slathered with one of 10 varieties of cream cheese. Customers nip in for a warm bagel and coffee and inevitably leave with a dozen more in a bag. Rugalach and triangular hamantaschen (apple-cheese strudels) sweeten the deal. The Bagel House also sells a line of sugar-free jams. Unlicensed. Mains $1.25–$6.
