This low-key Rosedale haunt is so popular with the white-haired set that it feels like the cafeteria of a posh retirement home. Except for a few worldly flourishes, the menu hasn’t changed much in 27 years. Liver and frites is bistro cooking at its finest: thin slices of moist calf liver are barely kissed by the grill and served with caramelized onion jam and salty-sweet fries. The single-page wine list has something for every budget and taste. Service is efficient, though on the phony side of friendly. Mains $15–$33.
