This British-style pub has been a Toronto staple since 1979. The dimly lit bar provides a setting for an intimate dinner or to catch the big game on TV. But don’t expect just traditional pub fare here. Rather, the menu offers flavours from around the world, including vegetarian pad Thai, red curry shrimp, grilled tofu with ginger-chili beef, steak and mushroom pie, Atlantic salmon, and Cajun shrimp penne (pan-fried Cajun shrimp, roasted red pepper and scallions). The tap, too, spans the globe, serving up more than 20 different brews. Mains $6.50–$15.50.
