This friendly gastro-pub may dress itself in traditional tavern warmth, but it weaves echoes of the Upper Canada Rebellion (the musket over the bar) with the modern, tapping Canadian microbrews and dishing updates on historic fare from its open kitchen. Nibbles include a daily wild game sausage appetizer (venison with a scattershot of blueberries, for example) served with tart house-made mustard, while the more upscale dinner menu shows off the kitchen’s touch with hearty meats. ...
