Editorial Review

A mix-and-match menu equally prioritizes thin-crust pizzas, classic pastas and a seasonally rotating list of options from the grill. Fazzoletti, the ever-evolving daily special, is an entrée of house-made handkerchief pasta wrapped around a filling—eggplant ragoût one visit, tuna and cream the next. Simplicity is key here, but if $10 pasta pomodoro—little more than spaghetti, tomatoes and a sprinkling of parmigiano—seems a bit too minimalist, the $25 dessert platter is redeeming: warm, house-made walnut brownie with hints of caramel, rich dark chocolate torte, panna cotta that tastes of a meadow in Tuscany, and a daily cheesecake—not to mention tarte tatin and tartufo. Mains $8–$28.
