Gumbo yaya brings a terrifically aromatic and thick stew, with smoky flavours and spicy andouille sausage. Smoke
also permeates punchy creole shrimp, while crawfish étouffée—small bits of craw meat cooked in a roux-based white sauce—takes a comparatively mild route. After such strong flavours, sticky, sweet house-made pecan pie makes a natural finish. Somewhat inattentive service. Mains $19–$25.
