Reggie's Old Fashioned Sandwiches

Reviewed by Toronto LifeLooking for something more sustaining than street meat, peckish clubbers stumble into this 24-hour King West spot. Chef-owner Bryan Burke delivers towering sandwiches filled with house-made condiments, naturally raised meat and local produce. House-smoked B.C. salmon is layered with dill cream cheese, pickled onions and grassy sprouts; rosemary focaccia is a nice change from the usual bagel. Served on sourdough, shredded duck leg, gooey brie, crunchy apple and roasted tomato is a delightfully messy combo. Straight out of a trailer park, breaded, deep-fried mac-and-cheese sticks are even better than they sound. A warm chocolate chunk cookie is an inch away from being a Frisbee. Service is friendly but frazzled. Unlicensed.
