Editorial Review

This ain’t your average chemical-laden wiener and stale bun hot dog joint. Buddha Dog steps things up a notch, with 100 per cent aged beef, house-made buns and other natural and homemade ingredients sourced from Prince Edward County. Rustic farmhouse wood, exposed brick and a rusted ’50s florist sign add a little hipness to the Zen. Customers mull over a wide selection of Black River cheeses and over 80 sauces (many donated by local chefs), while Feist and her brethren play gently in the background. The dog of the day (a brie and tomato pear chutney affair on one visit) offers the indecisive a little inspiration. Unlicensed. Mains $1.50–$4.50.
