Addis Ababa

Reviewed by Toronto LifeWith paintings of African warriors adorning the walls, the incense-filled room is as welcoming as always. But now that Little Ethiopia at Bloor and Ossington is the nexus for expats, it’s mostly Queen Westers who pack this nearly 20-year-old spot. Vegetables are particularly nice, like shiro wat, a creamy, spicy purée of ground peas in a red berbere gravy; and beets cooked with ginger and garlic. The flavours contrast nicely with hoppy Ethiopian beers. Service is friendly but sometimes slow.
