Don Valley Village
Despite the fact that most houses here were constructed during the architecturally bland ’60s and ’70s, many are built in the Tudor style—in fact, the neighbourhood has possibly more Tudors than any other suburban community in Toronto. We can only guess the anglophiles who first settled in this community had an affinity for the style: sometimes, if you stand in the right place, you can see half a dozen Tudors in a single glance. Three parks that meander into one another naturally also wander amiably, north to south, through the core of Don Valley Village. In this wide expanse, toward the intersection of highways 401 and 404, access to public transportation is poor, which may explain why traffic is high for a residential suburb, despite the curvy streets likely designed to discourage commuters.
