Party-weary parents can take advantage of all-inclusive fetes offered at select Loblaws locations. For $18 a head, the troops are watered, fed and entertained—and someone else’s kitchen gets trashed. The party starts off with a hands-on cooking class that could feature pizza, pasta, Mexican or even sushi. The make-your-own theme continues with dessert; each kid frosts and decorates a mini cake or cookies, or bakes brownies, fudge or apple crisp, which is then boxed up to take home as a party favour. Cooking is interspersed with games, gift opening and a cake ceremony. Ages: five to 11 years.
