Stressed-out parents need structure, time outs and guidance as much as their kids do. And for help up the learning curve, many turn to Beverley Cathcart-Ross, a 19-year veteran in the parent education field whose empathy is real (she’s the mother of four children). Grounded in the child-rearing theories of Adlerian psychiatrist Rudolf Dreikurs, she encourages a respectful and democratic approach to the parent-child relationship. Her Parenting Network offers a flexible menu of introductory and advanced courses, workshops, one-on-one consultations, CDs and conference calls.
Hours:
M–F 9 a.m.–9:30 p.m.
How much:
six-week introductory course $225, single workshop $35; prices vary.
