A comprehensive music program aimed at promoting creativity, the Yamaha method develops students’ ears and their ability to read music. Kids as young as two are put on the road to singing, playing and reading music—in that order. Older students learn to read earlier in the process, but the goal is the same: to equip kids with the skills they need to compose music, arrange a tune or otherwise channel their musical muse. Violin, guitar and other instruments are taught, but for very young children, the key to learning is the keyboard.
