This children’s music program is based on the belief that music promotes all aspects of a child’s development, from the intellectual to the emotional. Kindermusik, for example, uses interactive classes based on the Orff, Kodály, Suzuki, Dalcroze and Montessori methods, to encourage a love of music. Suzuki piano lessons are available to students as young as three years old. Classes are structured around age, and include the Viva! singing program and World Beat, in which children dance and bang away on simple percussion instruments. Ages: newborn to 12 years
Hours:
year-round after school and Sa–Su; Kindermusik, eight- to 18-week semesters; Viva! and World Beat, $360; summer music camps $140-$330; March break camps available
How much:
Kindermusik $165–$369; Suzuki $300 per term.
