Originally a clearance outlet for Town Shoes, the Shoe Company empire has mushroomed—good news if you’re looking for name brand footwear at slashed prices. The kids’ section is small but strong: you may stumble upon a pair by Stride Rite, Nike or OshKosh. Preschool (sizes three to 10) deals include Columbia Sportswear sandals ($39.99). Loafers and Mary Janes by OshKosh sell in the $30 range. There’s also plenty from the lauded Stride Rite brand, including first walkers ($46). For youth (sizes one to six and 11 to 13), the sneaker selection—featuring Reebok, Adidas and Brooks—is expansive. But take note: the Yonge and Bloor shop does not stock kids’ shoes.
