Cheap kids’ shoes made out of synthetic materials can lead to foot problems, say the experts. Owner Cerissa Abbott agrees: only natural fibres will do. So it is that Petit Pied stocks imported well-made shoes in leather, nubuck and the like, all constructed to nurture little feet. Fitting that bill perfectly is Italian line Geox, purveyor of breathable shoes, including Mary Janes ($85–$110), girls’ dress boots and waterproof winter boots ($74–$150). In the store’s vast selection of first walkers, there are lace-up booties from French line Pom D’Api ($99–$130). Petit Pied also carries Ugg and Emu shearling boots ($89–$179).
