If your idea of a deal excludes anything over $20, then this generic cousin to the Gap might be your shopping mecca. Located in a dark cavern of the Eaton Centre, the store applies the fast food mentality to shopping: maximum volume and maximum anonymity. Salespeople, while helpful, have to be sought out in this vast space. The mix—from cable-knit shoulder bags ($24.50) and men’s lined corduroy jackets ($49.50) to maternity and infant wear—appeals to the entire family. Striped dress shirts and reverse-knit hoodies are $34.50; low-rise boot-cut jeans ($29.50–$49.50) suit a variety of body types.
