Drop-in weekend workshops for three- to five-year-olds are more artsy than techy—and a bargain at $5 per kid. During the 90-minute-long weekday sessions, kids create stories with paper, paint or claymation, and then see their work turned into short films, screened in the cinema room. The workshops are often a prelude to camps, which run three times a year. Day camp, for kids eight to 18, focuses on story development and makes use of the NFB’s video cameras and software. Birthday parties for up to 15 kids are $150 for a custom-themed two-hour event.

Hours:
Can’t Sit Still (ages three to five) Sa 10:30–noon; Open House workshop (ages six to 13) Sa–Su 1–3 p.m.; reservations recommended.
How much:
$5 per child, accompanying adult free; camp from $275.
