Eric and Susan, Custom Lampshade Makers

Bring outmoded, broken or just plain shabby lamps to this old-school spa for light fixtures and lamps, and they shall be made new again. Rejuvenation may involve rewiring and restyling. Custom work runs the gamut from a new shade (from $30) to a one-off fixture created from a treasured vessel. For an antique sideboard, one customer commissioned a pair of lamps fashioned from a pair of green marble columns—once gold-leafed, stained, wired and topped with silk shades, the slim and elegant fixtures sold for $795.
