Dekla

Italian kitchen designer-manufacturer Scavolini—devoted to function and elegance—is a Toronto exclusive here. All of the designs tend to the same adjectival descriptions: sleek, clean, fresh, futuristic. Lacquered surfaces are tinted in a palette of 35 shades, from henna brown to vivid blue; surface materials include sharp steel and wood veneers; cupboards are minimalist. Materials are water- and steam-resistant and come with a five-year warranty; a Cristalan worktop even claims to be unbreakable. Shatter the bank on bathroom fixtures from Agape; its Spoon tub ($10,750) looks less like cutlery and more like a de-yolked halved egg. The tub’s concave shell, fit to comfortably cradle the body, is made with a heat-retaining composite of resin and quartz.
