With the promise of instant gratification, designer Janice Lindsay does in-home consultations—and doesn’t leave until there is no doubt that silver sage green is the absolute right shade for the bedroom and, contrary to your partner’s opinion, the sofa really does belong on the south-facing wall. In three hours, Lindsay can cure “colour paralysis,” sketch a room layout, edit your existing furnishings, leave you with a list of trusted suppliers, and basically put you well on the path to decorating nirvana. As a past guest on CityLine, Lindsay deftly made decisions in front of a live audience, but insists the at-home process has to be collaborative. “I’m not a colour bully,” she says. “If someone wants white, we find the right shade of white.”
