Holly Dyment Design

A former graphic designer, artist and faux-finisher, Holly Dyment is not the neutrals type, so don’t ask for beige. Think of her as the design equivalent of the brass section of a band—if you want bursts of fuchsia, pistachio, aqua and lilac, then she’s your woman. Dyment has studied colour therapy and is, unsurprisingly, an admirer of the Designers Guild fabric house. (Founded in 1970, it was among the first companies to bring a strong colour movement to classic settings, and to coordinate textiles with wall coverings.) For her own house, she covered a table in pink and gold sari fabric, set it with delicate crystal vessels and cast it against boldly patterned pomegranate-motif wallpaper. Her living room features pink 1940s cut-velvet chairs, crimson lampshades and a bright red sofa set against chartreuse walls. Fee from $150 per hour.
