Large windows give this two-room Rosedale boutique a sun-kissed feel. Popular items include luxe tablecloths and fragrant French milled soaps. Decor finds range from country accents to French lamps and light fixtures ($150–$450). French Country is the exclusive Toronto distributor of custom-made gas ranges from Burgundy-based firm Lacanche. An inviting colour palette and retro styling almost make the hefty price tags seem downright reasonable (a stove recently on display was $13,100). After all, in a true French country house, the kitchen is always the most important room.
