Au Lit Fine Linens

Owned by mother-and-daughter team Peggy Byron and Joanna Goodman, this elegant midtown linen boutique has been transforming polyester-clad bedrooms into chic, luxurious boudoirs for 27 years. Most of the linens are made from the best cotton Egypt has to offer, which is woven in Italy then imported to Montreal, where the fabrics can be custom-sewn to your specific needs. Go for understated class with Au Lit’s basic Essentials line of 220-thread-count cotton sheets (queen set, $300) or splurge on the opulent cotton Satin line of 320- to 1,030-thread-count sheets ($500–$1,100). A selection of bedroom furniture and accessories takes care of every detail, including headboards, bedside tables and crystal chandeliers. If your Visa is almost maxed, try the outlet store two doors down, where items can be up to 60 per cent off.
