Rona

Everything at this recently renovated Rona location is still bright and shiny. Avid gardeners will appreciate the seasonal garden centre, while handymen and -women will like the reasonably priced tools, such as a $16 six-piece set of Stanley wrenches. Novice house flippers should try the store’s project guide service, which offers free, start-to-finish advice from a Rona-trained professional about anything design related, whether it’s building an addition, finishing the basement or landscaping the backyard. While retail customers make up most of this location’s business, a third of the store’s patrons are contractors, which is why the back doors open up at 6:30 on weekday mornings.

Hours:
Summer hours: M–Sa 7 a.m.–10 p.m., Su 8–8. Winter hours: M–F 7 a.m.–10 p.m., Sa 7 a.m.–8 p.m., Su 8–7
